Figgy is a 6-month-old Standard Poodle puppy. He currently weighs about 30 pounds right now and will likely be around 60 pounds when full grown.
Figgy is everything you could want in a puppy: smart, curious, adaptable, friendly, mischievous, and sweet. He loves toys, balls, and chew bones, and he empties his toy box daily! He's a superstar at fetch and even brings the ball back. He enjoys interactive play with his people but is also happy entertaining himself when needed. He's food-motivated, learns quickly, and is eager to please, making him fun to train. He's house-trained and learning to walk nicely on a leash. He's also learning his basic commands.
Figgy came to us after being attacked by another dog in his original home, resulting in a skull fracture. Unfortunately, the injury permanently damaged the tear drainage system in his right eye. A veterinary eye specialist has determined that the damage cannot be surgically corrected. The good news is that his vision is unaffected, and he is not experiencing any pain or discomfort. He will have a watery right eye and some ongoing tear staining on that side of his face for the rest of his life. But as you can see from his photos, he's still an absolutely adorable boy! Even more remarkable, Figgy holds no grudges and continues to love other dogs.
Figgy is an adaptable pup who could fit into many types of families. He hasn't been around children or cats yet, but his easygoing temperament is encouraging. He would like a yard in which to run and play, as well as being taken for daily walks. He would thrive with an engaged owner or family willing to continue his training (ideally taking him to group training classes where he can continue learning around other dogs), teach him fun tricks, and include him in walks, hikes, and other adventures.
Figgy's adoption fee is $800 and includes his already completed neuter surgery, up to date vaccinations, and a microchip.
