Curly Nelson is a sweet, gentle little man of about 8 years old. HIs foster mom thinks he's likely a schnauzer poodle mix, based on his personality and appearance. He is a quiet, cuddly guy who wants nothing more than to be close to his person and never turns down a nap in a lap. He can also be chatty, when he wants attention.
Nelson rides calmly and politely in a car, is learning to walk confidently on a leash, and waits patiently for his favorite treat, cheese.
Despite the appearance of never having any care when he was initially rescued, he tolerates grooming and pedicures with very little fuss. Baths aren't his favorite things, but he's happy with a cuddle in a towel after.
Nelson was very likely an only dog, but is learning some pack behavior and manors with his foster mom's resident pups. He's even beginning to play a little with the other dogs, but would probably do best as a single dog, or in a home with another gentle natured pup. He's not interested in toys at this stage, but this may be due to his recent dental work.Nelson's dental health was severely neglected, and he has very few teeth, so he does require soft food or softened kibble. He doesn't appear to have any food intolerances.
Nelson has not been exposed to cats or children in his foster home, but has been welcoming and happy with new adults, after an initial introduction.
Nelson is also potty trained and will go to the door when he wants to go out. The few accidents he's had were when foster momma wasn't paying attention to the cues. Nelson’s adoption fee is $250.00
