I'm ready for my new family!

Tobin (aka Apollo)

I'm Available

Meet Apollo!

Apollo is a sweet, affectionate, goofy young dog with a HUGE personality! He loves being with his people and enjoys snuggling up beside you, leaning against your legs for attention, giving kisses, or inviting you to rub his belly. He is a wonderful combination of loving cuddlebug and energetic goofball.

Apollo is about a year old and still has plenty of puppy energy. He loves playing fetch (and he is FAST), carrying stuffed toys around the house, chewing on his bones, solving treat puzzles, and going for walks. He is smart, food motivated, knows several basic commands, and is eager to learn.

He is housebroken and has good house manners. He enjoys his walks and settles nicely once he gets past the initial excitement. He is generally curious but appropriate when seeing other dogs on walks. He is doing well on a schedule of two walks a day, in addition to play time in the yard.

Apollo is still learning how to manage his excitement and can become very mouthy and jumpy when overstimulated during periods of play and zoomies. Because of this, he is not appropriate for a home with children. He needs adults who understand young-dog behavior and are willing to continue working on impulse control, manners, and consistent boundaries.

He can also become overly excited around other dogs during playtime and doesn't always take their cues that they don't want to play as energetically as he does. He tends to chase, jump on, and nip at them during play. Because of this energy, we feel he would be best without a small or fragile dog. In addition he can be a little possessive of his humans when other dogs are present. He would do best as an only dog, but may do well with a medium-to-large dog with a compatible energy level and temperament.

Apollo is also working on crate training and learning to be comfortable when left alone. He settles nicely in his crate but may whine initially, so his new family should be prepared to continue building his independence gradually. A home where someone is around much of the time, such as someone who works from home, could be an especially good fit.

Apollo is friendly with adults and warms up quickly to visitors. He may bark and jump a little when someone first arrives, but once he realizes they're friendly, he is happy to receive attention.

Apollo's ideal home:

  • Adults only — no children
  • An active person or couple who enjoy walks, fetch, play, and training
  • An owner willing to provide structure, boundaries, exercise, and continued training
  • Someone who wants an affectionate companion who loves being with his people
  • Ideally an only-dog scenario, potentially a compatible medium-to-large canine companion
  • No small or fragile dogs

Apollo is a loving, intelligent, playful young dog with so much potential. He has a lot of puppy silliness left in him, but underneath all that energy is an incredibly affectionate dog who simply wants to be loved, included, and part of his people's lives. He'll make someone a wonderful companion!

Apollo's adoption fee is $850.00. This includes his already completed neuter surgery, all up-to-date shots, and a microchip.
